Dr. Garry Shen
Dr. Garry Shen is a tenured Professor at the University of Manitoba with extensive research and teaching experience. He holds multiple doctoral degrees and has received training at renowned institutions such as Harvard Medical School. Dr. Shen has authored over 140 papers and books and has received numerous awards throughout his career. He currently serves as the Associate Director of the Diabetes Research Group and Co-Chair of the Endocrine Research Group. Additionally, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of a respected journal since 2007. His research program is supported by prestigious organizations and he has led important studies since 2004. Sarah Shoukat
Sarah Shoukat is a fourth year Human Nutritional Sciences student and works as a Research Assistant for the Moms in Motion Research Team. She assists Dr. Shen and Dr. Amy Hui in research studies, sample collection, surveys, pre-natal classes, presentations, social media and posts.
Khushboo Bhavsar
Khushboo has studied medicine and is currently working with Moms in Motion research team as a volunteer.
Dr. Amy Hui
Dr. Amy Hui is the study coordinator for Moms in Motion.
Janice Fajardo
Janice is the Lab Technician for Moms in Motion. She analyzes the samples that come into the lab (Ex. milk) and additionally helps out with ongoing research projects.
Manvir Bhamra
Manvir is the research assistant for Moms in Motion. She recently graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences and will be completing her Dietetic Internship in Fall 2023. The majority of her role consists of connecting with participants in the various studies Moms in Motion runs, coordinating and reporting to Amy and supporting the data collection.
